Japanese
Buddhist Sites
This project is dedicated to the entire Carthage Community, to help promote a deeper understanding of Japanese Buddhism. While studying in Japan during the 1999-2000 academic year, I visited Asakusa, Kamakura, and Kyoto, which are home to some of Japan’s largest and most famous Japanese Buddhist temples. Aside from their historical importance, these temples also contain many extraordinary statues, gardens, and artifacts. I hope that you will enjoy the pictures and come to know a little bit more about Japanese Buddhism.
