Some of the participants have obliged me by writing down some impressions about the trip to share with others. Although I'm obviously using this as a promotional tool for the January 2005, I also wanted each person to write in his or her own voice, without either prompting or editing from me (beyond correcting the occasional spelling error). Here's a Bonus picture from 2003, showing me carrying the
tray of flowers at Khwaja Saheb's tomb in Ajmer. One carries them on
the head as a sign of respect and humility, and I did this in the same way
that all the other pilgrims did. Apparently my fellow travelers found
this very striking, and many of them took
pictures of this scene. Thanks to Lyndsey for this photo. |
